An interesting fact to note is that more people throughout the world drink goats milk than
any other milk. In fact 65% of total milk consumption worldwide is goats milk!
CapraMilk has some significant differences from cows milk. For example, goats milk fat cells
are on average 27% smaller than that of cows' milk which allows for a larger surface to volume ratio which leads to faster digestion. The smaller fat globule size keeps goats milk naturally homogenized. Homogenizing milk causes the cell walls to break releasing a superoxide known as Xanthine Oxidase. This superoxide is said to have many negative effects on the body one of which is that it first penetrates the intestinal wall and then infiltrates the blood stream. From the blood stream it is said to cause scar damage to the heart. Since goat milk is naturally homogenized, the cell walls remain intact and do not allow free
roaming xanthine oxidase.
Goats' milk protein has a softer consistency when
the milk is digested in the stomach and then
absorbed in the small intestine. Since this curd is
softer, it is broken down by the stomach acids and
intestinal enzymes in a more efficient manner.
This aids in a faster and easier overall digestion.
It has been estimated that transit time from the
point that the milk is consumed to the point that
digestion is complete may be up to six times
faster than cows' milk.
What if I am lactose intolerant or allergic to cows' milk?
Many people find that they can consume goat milk without any problems
but have trouble drinking cow milk without feeling either sick or
uncomfortable. Some may have a slight case of lactose intolerance, whereas
others may have a milk allergy. Goats' milk has around 10% less lactose
than cows' milk so those suffering from slight lactose intolerance may find
success with goats' milk. In the case of milk allergies, goats' milk has
significantly less of the allergen alphas
1casein which may allow for the
consumption of goats milk over cows milk.
