George Burns said, “Love what you are do­ing and don’t retire… I would rather be a failure at something I love than a success at some-thing I hate.”

My husband made his living for 30 years fixing phones for businesses; and he hated it. What he really wanted to do was play with computer pro­grams, but that was “just a hobby”. So, he finally retired and started “playing” with computer programming. Now, he “plays” all day and makes more money than he did when he was “working”!

What about you? Is there something you love to do and that you are good at? Gar­dening? Mechanics? Cooking? Woodwork­ing? Em­broi­dery? How about encourage­ment, disci­ple­ship, or teaching? In this era of cottage industries, isn’t there a way you can do what you love to do, make a differ­ence to others, and maybe support yourself at the same time? Hmmm..

Romans 12: 6-8
…if a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage…
