Make a list of the blessings that God has done in your life. Include your children and your spouse certainly, but also that time He kept you from being killed in a car accident, or the time He put food on the table when there was no money, and that stranger that was suddenly there when you needed help. Look back and count your blessings and make a list so you can remember them again and again.
I recently found a journal where I wrote out some of my blessings, many years ago. I discovered some things that I had nearly forgotten. Like the time the heating oil tank just mysteriously filled itself. Or another time when I had a new baby and couldn’t afford diapers and the mail man showed up at the door with all the diaper samples for his whole route!
2 Corinthians 1:8-10
We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. And he did rescue us!
